Former Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu, Ex-Chief Justice of India NV Ramana, and superstars Rajnikanth, Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi were also present.
While walking on stage, PM Modi held Pawan’s hand, taking him along to meet Chiranjeevi. Later, he took both their hands and lifted them up in a sign of victory. He also hugged both brothers on stage.
This is the fourth time that Naidu assumed charge as Andhra chief minister and the second time after the bifurcation in 2014. Congratulations to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri@ncbn Ji, Deputy Chief Minister Shri@PawanKalyan ji, and all others who took the oath of office today. It is my firm belief that the NDA government will pivot the state of Andhra Pradesh to new heights of prosperity, fulfilling the aspirations and hopes of the people,” Shah said in his post.
Chandrababu took to X to share pictures with Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan and Rajinikanth. He thanked them for attending the ceremony, saying, “The oath-taking ceremony shone even brighter today with the presence of our cinema legends. I thank Thalaivar @rajinikanth Garu, @KChiruTweets Garu, @AlwaysRamCharan Garu, and every superstar who graced the occasion.”
Naidu and Kalyan were administered the oath of office by Governor S Abdul Nazeer. Naidu’s son and TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh, TDP’s Andhra Pradesh unit chief K Atchannaidu, and Jana Sena Party political affairs committee chairman Nadendla Manohar were among the 24 ministers, who were sworn in, too. The Cabinet has three women ministers, 12 members from Other Category, eight Backward Class, two Scheduled Caste, one Scheduled Tribe and one Muslim.
The TDP played a crucial role in the NDA government formation this time. The NDA alliance comprising TDP, Jana Sena and BJP won 164 seats in the 175-member Assembly this time. The alliance also swept the Lok Sabha election, winning 21 of Andhra’s 25 seats and decimating the incumbent YSR Congress Party.
“May your leadership bring prosperity and welfare to the state. Looking forward to strengthening the bond and cooperation between Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu for the betterment of both states,” wrote Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin in a post congratulating Naidu after his swearing-in today. “Thank you for your wishes, Thiru @ mkstalin!,” Naidu responded in a post on the social media site X.
