deepak dwivediAs Indo-British ties enter a transformational phase, it’s our privilege to bring before you the UK edition of Blitz India, the world’s first weekly chronicle of development news. The primary aim of the UK launch is to share with you the Indian stories of friendship and sustenance, of development and growth, of success and achievements; and to listen to your stories. By focusing on the 1.6 million-strong Indian diaspora, Blitz India will attempt to strengthen this dynamic living bridge, as it has been described by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. India and the United Kingdom are vibrant democracies with great prospects in human resources, manufacturing, science, education, research and innovation, defence and green technologies, among others. And now, the UK-India friendship is witnessing a new dawn. Both the countries are committed to a partnership that benefits both nations. Under the leadership of PM Modi and PM Rishi Sunak, the bond will grow further. Trade, investment, knowledge, and technology will improve with this collaboration. It will provide a fillip to the progress of the two nations and livelihoods of respective citizens.

The Free Trade Agreement (FTA) is expected to be finalised soon. It is time, therefore, to reconnect and to revitalise the existing relations. Blitz India will provide an effective platform for all initiatives in this regard. In the dawn that is set to be ushered in the India-UK ties, the diaspora will play an important role. In the UK, Indians are the largest number of residents born outside the country. They play a major part in the social and economic fabrics of the country.

In the dawn that is set to be ushered, the diaspora will play an important role

Now they have a larger role to play in paving the path to renewed friendship and cooperation. Blitz India, with its UK edition, intends to be a part of this new dawn. It is worth mentioning here that the UK launch is part of Blitz India’s global expansion plans. Development journalism, which the weekly newspaper pioneered, has been warmly welcomed by the readers, encouraging us to spread our wings worldwide.

Ever since its launch in New Delhi, Blitz India has become a must-read for policymakers, thought leaders and academics in India. Continuing with our quest to promote constructive journalism worldwide, we aim to connect with the people of Indian origin living in the United Kingdom through the pages of the Blitz India’s UK edition.

The inaugural edition we present before you is no less than a collector’s item in terms of its content, design and presentation. The 24-page blockbuster issue comprises insightful and well researched write-ups on subjects ranging from politics, law and governance to business, sports and entertainment. These exhaustive pieces have been contributed exclusively to Blitz India by top domain experts.

Apart from special write-ups and one-on-one interactions with some big achievers, we also reproduce a list of key PIOs in British Parliament and business arena, collated by our research team.

At the end, I must express my profound thanks and gratitude to a galaxy of people from India and the UK without whose support and patronage, the London launch of Blitz India would not have been possible. It’s due to the collective efforts of a committed team that the Blitz India’s mission of development journalism has achieved its first overseas milestone. Many more to come!
