MUMBAI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the INS Towers B-Wing, on his visit to the Indian Newspaper Society Secretariat, in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, on July 13.

The new building will fulfill the evolving needs of members of INS for a modern and efficient office space in Mumbai and would serve as the nerve center for the newspaper industry in the financial capital of the country. Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister congratulated the INS members on the inauguration of the new tower and expressed the hope that the ease of working in the new space will further strengthen India’s democracy.

Underlining that the INS was formed before Independence, he said the organisation has not only been a witness to the ups and downs of India’s journey but also lived it and communicated it to the people.

PM Modi said the media is not a mute spectator of the conditions of the nations but plays a major role in changing them. He underlined the role of newspapers and magazines in the next 25-year journey to Viksit Bharat.

The PM urged the media industry to align with Government initiatives aimed at benefiting the people. Highlighting the need for global presence, the Prime Minister advised the publishers to consider translating their publications into languages spoken in United Nations countries, by harnessing the potential of microsites and social media for global outreach. He emphasised the importance of digital editions in amplifying India’s voice on the global stage.

The inauguration ceremony began with a ceremonial unveiling of the plaque, followed by a warm welcome of PM Modi by INS President Rakesh Sharma. The INS chief urged the Prime Minister to look into the recent issue of Self Declaration Certificates as well as the issues raised with the Finance Minister during a recent interaction.

Rs 29k-cr development push in Maharashtra

MUMBAI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and dedicated to the nation multiple projects related to road, railways and ports sectors worth more than Rs 29,400 crore, in Mumbai.

Addressing the event, the PM he spoke about a huge skill development project for the youth of Maharashtra which will further boost employment opportunities in the state. He mentioned Vadhavan Port which was recently approved by the Centre. “The Rs 76,000-crore project will create more than 10 lakh jobs”, he said. Touching upon the investor mood in Mumbai in the last one month, the Prime Minister said that both small and big investors have enthusiastically welcomed the third term of the Government.

Elaborating on the high aspirations of the citizens in the 21st century, PM Modi reiterated the national resolution of Viksit Bharat in the next 25 years. He emphasised the role of Mumbai and Maharashtra in this journey. The PM mentioned the completion of the coastal road and Atal Setu. He said about 20,000 vehicles are using Atal Setu daily, saving an estimated Rs 20-25 lakh worth of fuel. The Metro system, he said, is developing rapidly in Mumbai
