NEW DELHI: On the second day of the G20 Agriculture Working Group meeting in Chandigarh on March 30, the delegates were taken to Sukhna Lake where a light and sound show was organised for them. Upon arriving there, the international guests couldn’t hold their feet as they danced to the tunes of Oscar-winning Naatu, Naatu song from RRR.

The video soon became viral on social media. The Naatu Naatu trend was started by the Korean embassy in New Delhi. Congratulating India for the Oscar 2023, Korean Ambassador Chang Jae-bok, along with the embassy staff, grooved to the Naatu Naatu song on the embassy grounds, and the 53-second video clip was posted on Twitter.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi noticed the “flavour of brotherhood” expressed by the Korean embassy staff and wrote on his Twitter handle: “Lively and adorable team effort”.

The informal challenge set by the Korean embassy was picked up by the German embassy in India. German Ambassador Philipp Ackermann, with his Indo-German team, celebrated the Naatu Naatu victory by dancing in the bylanes of Chandni Chowk and within the Red Fort premises. While in Old Delhi, the ambassador also enjoyed a plate of ‘jalebi’ and received a baton with a South Korean flag and Naatu Naatu printed on it. It will be interesting to see who picks the baton next!
