PRIME Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity is rising by the day and he is increasingly leaving people from all walks of life spellbound with his personal charisma and appeal. Whether it is Karnataka’s Bidri artist Shah Rashid Ahmed Qadri, who received the Padma Award recently, or many of the Opposition leaders, present or past, none can stop admiring the PM for his large-heartedness and statesmanship. At the Padma award ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan recently, Qadri poured his heart out and said, “I had been applying for the award for the past five years. I had given up hope and believed that I would not get the Padma samman in BJP Government, but Modi ji, you have proved me wrong.” Former Union minister Azad, who was once the ‘big gun’ of the Congress, said at a programme recently that PM Modi deserved all praise and credit. “As the leader of the Opposition, I never spared PM Modi on any issue, whether it was Article 370, CAA, or the hijab issue, but despite this, he never acted with a sense of revenge,” said Azad. PDP leader Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who was once the focal point of the politics of Jammu and Kashmir and was the country’s first Muslim Union Home Minister in the VP Singh Government, had called PM Modi the biggest secular leader. CR Keshavan, former Congress leader and great-grandson of the country’s first Indian Governor-General, C Rajagopalachari, joined the BJP recently after resigning from the Congress in February. Explaining the reason why he left the Congress, Keshavan said he had seen the work on the ground which was being done by the Prime Minister and his team. “I know people in my family who got houses through the PM Awas Yojana. So far, three crore houses have been built,” he said. Anil Antony, son of former Kerala chief minister AK Antony, also joined the BJP on April 6, the foundation day of the BJP. It is the magic of PM Modi which is making people throng towards him.

Despite the ongoing border dispute with China, the people of that country also have huge respect for Prime Minister Modi. According to an article published in the US-based magazine ‘Diplomat’, PM Modi is respectfully called ‘Modi Laoxian’ by Chinese people, which means ‘Modi is immortal’. At a time when relations between the two countries are going through a rough patch, getting such admiration from the people of that nation is a testimony to the kind of respect PM Modi commands all over the world.

In fact, it is the comments of users on social media to news like these that show the true sentiment and high esteem that people have for the Prime Minister. This is also the reason that today, under the leadership of PM Modi, the country is set to take a big leap into the future.
