LORD Swraj Paul’s benevolence extends in every field, including in healthcare. The London Northwest University Healthcare (LNWH), which is part of the NHS Trust, provides acute hospital services to the people of Brent, Ealing, and Harrow. It runs four hospitals: Central Middlesex, Ealing, Northwick Park, and St Marks.
A truly local organisation, 67 per cent of the hospitals’ workforce comes from black, Asian or minority ethnic backgrounds. Most of LNWH’s employees live in boroughs: in Harrow, one working person in every hundred works for it.
LNWH is now creating a new exterior image for Lady Aruna Swraj Paul Maternity Hospital. As part of this, it will build a new entrance and upgrade the lobby, reducing heat-loss and making wave-finding easier for families.
A new entrance canopy will be built complete with new lighting. Partial recladding of lower floors will support the new image whilst also enhance energy efficiency. As part of its sustainability commitment, the hospital will include photovoltaic cell technology and seek to reduce energy loss.
