NEW DELHI: Vande Bharat Express trains are provided with advanced safety features and amenities. Also, there are special provisions for passengers who may be differently able.
The train has an intelligent braking system which enables better acceleration and deceleration. Adding to the green footprints, the train has a regenerative braking system in its coaches which can save up to 30 per cent of electrical energy.
Each train has 16 air-conditioned coaches of which two are for Executive Class with a total seating capacity of 1,128 passengers.
Coaches are equipped with automatic doors, GPS-based audio-visual passenger information system, on-board hotspot Wi-Fi for entertainment purposes, and comfortable seats.
Soon there will be improved security with four emergency windows added in every coach. Instead of two, the newer versions will come with four cameras outside coaches for a clear view of the platform and the rear end.
The Executive Class has rotating chairs which can be made to turn towards the window or towards companions when travelling in groups.
While its air conditioning system comes with improvements, lighting is in dual mode – i.e., diffused for general illumination and personal for every seat.
Every coach has a pantry with facilities to serve hot meals, and hot and cold beverages. The trains have bio vacuum toilets with touchfree amenities.
