As part of its ‘One Week One Theme’ initiative, the Council Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)- National Physical Laboratory (NPL) hosted a three-day workshop on Aerospace, Electronics, Instrumentation & Strategic Sector (AEISS) theme from August 2-4 at the NPL campus.
Venugopal Achanta, Director of CSIRNPL, extended a warm welcome to delegates. Elaborating on the AEISS theme, Abhay Anant Pashilkar, Director of CSIR-NAL and AEISS Theme Director, in his keynote address outlined its pivotal role in achieving Atmanirbhar Bharat, Swasth Bharat, and Make in India initiatives. He also discussed the projected targets associated with the AEISS theme.

Single window system
P. C. Panchariya, Director of CSIR-CEERI, highlighted the crucial role of the AEISS in driving industrial growth. He also elaborated on the significance of a single window system for smooth and straightforward technology transfer. S. K. Dubey, the workshop convenor, said over 60 students participated in the student-scientist interaction program. An exhibition showcasing the latest technologies and innovations in the field of science was put up. The students explored the exhibition and engaged with scientists. A science quiz based on the exhibition was held on the first day of the event.
It also celebrated the achievements of women scientists with the aim to motivate and inspire young girls to pursue careers in technology development. The participating labs at the workshop were CSIR-CSIO, CSIR-CEERI and CSIR-IIP.
