NEW DELHI: In a recent update from Forbes, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, has secured the top spot as the wealthiest individual in both Asia and India. According to the latest ‘2024 list of Billionaires’ by Forbes, Ambani’s wealth has skyrocketed to $116 billion from $83 billion, placing him as the sole Asian member of the prestigious $100 billion club.

The Forbes’ report also highlights a significant increase in the number of Indian billionaires featured this year, with a total of 200 individuals making the list, up from 169 the previous year. The combined wealth of these Indian billionaires surged to $954 billion, marking a notable 41 percent increase from the previous year’s total of $675 billion.

Following Ambani, Gautam Adani secures the second position as the wealthiest Indian, with an impressive net worth of $84 billion. His wealth saw a remarkable boost of $36.8 billion.
