NEW DELHI: UK’s opposition Labour Party has rejected a motion on alleged violence and rights abuses in Kashmir put forward by its Birmingham Hodge Hill unit for debate at its annual conference in Liverpool, said reports from London.

The Hodge Hill constituency in Birmingham comprises about 38 per cent population of Pakistani-origin, reports added. The Birmingham Hodge Hill Constituency Labour Party (CLP) motion was supported by Stoke-on-Trent Central CLP.

The motion mentioned that the “Conference notes all UN resolutions in relation to this disputed territory and urges a future Labour Government to continue the recognition of UN resolutions in relation to the rights of the Kashmiri people.”
